What do you think about AI in general?

Consent is key

look at this DALL•E 2 variation of

“IN THE VACUUM OF SPACE NOTHING MAKES A SOUND SO I MIGHT AS WELL SCREAM YOUR NAME BEFORE I LOSE MY BREATH”

and, I’d like to remind you all, my desktop and phone background was made using Midjourney & DALL•E 2

I think AI (more properly, machine learning algorithms, since there’s nothing “intelligent” about current programs that we call AI) is a TOOL.

And that being used for training data should be OPT-IN, not OPT-OUT.

Do I want to train these tools?

Since I use them it’d be hypocritical not to.

I’m just scared for eventual bad actors,

what if a corporation uses these tools to replace real workers?

what if someone copies someone’s art style and puts them into hot water or out of business?

I don’t want photographers who study and learn how to properly frame, compose, edit and have the patience to wait for the perfect shot and spend fortunes on gear to be replaced or poorly compensated for their amazing work and talent.

I don’t want people who painstakingly learn how to draw and waste their hand out to be replaced or poorly compensated for their amazing work and talent.

I can be replaced, my work is that of grabbing images I have and mashing them together, of sliding up some RGB values, I don’t do anything special, I’m very similar to generative content in a primordial sense.

“I can’t believe it’s nyaambxr” - nyaambxr

But I don’t want this to happen to real artists, the singers, the producers, the illustrators, the photographers, the animators, the editors, the 3D modelers, everyone.

Humans shouldn’t be replaced.
