those trying to get this bill passed have SPECIFICALLY stated that is is going to target trans people and other lgbtq identities. the “protecting children” bit is largely a cover to police internet access and stop largely lgbtq media and information from reaching certain parts of the internet (at least according to the few google searches i did on it, please look into it more yourself!)
also, while this is a US bill, it WILL BE ABLE to affect non-US countries! the link below has ways to contact your representatives (yes, there is also a non-US option)!
please spread this, if passed, it could genuinely do A Lot of harm. contact those representing you, if you’re not comfortable puting your actual information to contact them, ask to use a friends or family members! at the very least, SPREAD THE WORD! if this isn’t the type of stuff you normally reblog, do it anyway, or make a sideblog dedicated to spreading stuff like this! there ARE ways you can help, more than just the ways listed here!
